The Arthur G. Russell Co., Inc (AGR) hosted a plant tour for NHMA – New Haven Manufacturing Association and showed why they’re a leader in the field of turnkey automated equipment. They’ve been innovating industry-leading automated assembly systems here in Connecticut since 1945.
The event was kicked off by Mark Burzynski – President of AGR; with 30-years of experience in procuring and producing custom automated equipment. Like other successful companies practicing continuous improvement, AGR focuses on taking care of its employees so they can take care of customers.
While like many others they suffered a Lean false start. They now have several years of success with their “GROW” – Get Rid Of Waste program. Employee empowerment is a central tenet and top management works to support the ideas and needs of it’s employees.
The staff of AGR is strong in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The company holds (19) patents for the cost-effective equipment they design, build, install, and support in a wide range of industries. They specialize in meeting the demands of the high speed medical and consumer goods applications.
To address the challenge of STEM experience, actively engages local students by sponsoring Team 3461, Operation P.E.A.C.C.E. Robotics. Support is not limited to funds, more importantly AGR provides space, materials, and mentors to coach and guide the students. Follow the team as they compete in the FIRST® Robotics Competition.
Thank you’s go to NHMA, Mark, and the entire AGR Team for sharing your shop and story for the benefit of other manufactures in Connecticut competing in the global economy.
